Dr. Morizio's Laboratory
Welcome to Dr. James Morizio’s Integrated Mixed-Signal Circuits and Systems laboratory within the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Our current research is focused on exploring new analog circuit and systems for cross discipline research areas. The objective of our mixed-signal ASIC and printed circuit board (PCB) design focus is to provide disruptive technology in niche research applications areas to significantly improve system performance and capabilities beyond their current level of technology integration. The current application areas include bioelectronics for wireless and tethered neural interface systems for in vivo electrophysiology applications. This includes micro power hybrid backscatter transceiver design and Bluetooth (BLE) PCB design with embedded data compression coding. In addition we are also exploring highly efficient broadband transducer driver circuits for scalable ultrasonic microfluidic interfaces which includes a broadband Class E amplifier with adaptable impedance matching filters.
